Fibre ceramics for use on ceramics, fibre ceramics, graphite and metals
excellent chemical stability
high temperature application up to 1800°C
for crucibles, dies, supports and boats

Oben Description

Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA is a high purity alumina coating with excellent release and non-sticking properties. Due to its high chemical resistance this coating serves as a chemical reaction barrier with sintered materials, e.g. with the production of  hard metals (tungsten carbides) and magnetic substances. An application as a protective and release coating is also possible in the field of melting and casting processes of aggressive metals, alloys and slags.

Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA produces a hard and abrasive-resistant coating. For soft and flexible coatings the product Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AW is available. Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA can be used both at air as well as under vacuum and inert gas up to 1800°C.

ObenApplication

Resuspend Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA prior to use. Dilute with ethanol if necessary.
Application on clean surfaces is possible by painting or spraying.
Dry thoroughly. Do not contact wet coatings with metal melts. Additional layers may be applied after drying.
Curing of the coating is possible at 1000°C.
Best performance of  Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA is achieved by thin coatings (up to 200µm). Thick coatings may crack during use.
Do not damage coating during use, because damaged areas are not protected sufficiently.
Tools may be cleaned with water.

ObenStorage-Container Size

Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA must be protected against frost. A storage temperature of >5°C (>41°F) is recommended. The containers should be kept closed. Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA is available in 1kg-containers.

ObenSafety Advices

According to data available to us Aluminium-Oxide-Coating AA is a non-hazardous preparation. An EC material safety data sheet is available.
