Oben Description

Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G is a special coating based on high purity yttrium oxide (Y2O3-Content 99.99%). Yttrium oxide is the thermodynamically most stable oxide and is suitable for extreme operation conditions. This coating -  similar to house paints - on water base shows an extremly good stability with reactive melts such as Ti, Cr, Zr, Hf and Nb and can applied on ceramics, graphite and steel.

With Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G high purity melts can be produced in a very simple way. Therfore it finds application both within the area of reserach and development as well as in production, for example with the investment casting of Ti-alloys.

Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G can be used both at air as well as in the vacuum and inert gas to 2200°C. On graphite an application to approximetaly 1550°C is possible.

ObenApplication

Resuspend Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G before use. If necessary, dilute with distilled water.
Application to clean surfaces is possible by brushing or spraying.
Dry carefully. Do not contact wet coatings with metal melts.
After drying further coatings can be applied.
Best performance of Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G is obtained by a thin coat (<200µm). With a thicker coating application the danger of cracking exists.
During the application a damage of the coating should be avoided, because damaged areas are no longer sufficiently protected.
Tools can be cleaned with water.

ObenStorage-Container Size

Keep containers closed and protect against frost. A storage temperature of >5°C (>41°F) is recommended. Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G is available in 1kg-containers.

ObenSafety Advices

Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G contains water and is free of solvents. According to data available to us Yttrium-Oxide-Coating YO-G is a non-hazardous preparation. An EC material safety data sheet is available.
