Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A
high temperature lubrication and release agent
• for coating of ceramics, graphite and metals
• yields non-wetting surfaces
• for metal melts like aluminium and magnesium
• for bending glass
• good thermal shock resistance
• good thermal conductivity
• contains "white graphite"

Description

Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A is a special coating on the basis of boron nitride. This coating shows a very good non-wetting behaviour against many metal melts (e. g. aluminium and magnesium) as well as against silicate melts (glass melts). With Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A it is possible to coat metals, ceramics and graphite in order to protect these against aggressive melts during high temperature application.

Application

• Resuspend or shake Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A prior to use. Dilute with distilled water if necessary.
• Application on clean surfaces is possible by painting or spraying. Small components can be also dipped. Porous ceramics and fiber ceramics should be damped before applying this coating.
• Dry thoroughly. Do not contact wet coatings with metal melts. Additional layers may be applied after drying.
• Metals are preferably coated by spraying onto warm surfaces (50-150°C) (122-302°F).
• A thin coating application (50-150µm) is favourable. Thick layers may crack during use and chip off.

Storage-Container Size

Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A must be protected against frost. A storage temperature of >5°C (>41°F) is recommended. The containers should be kept closed. Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade A is available in 1kg-containers and 6kg-containers.
